I highly recommend Mackenzie if you are looking for a therapist who is both knowledgable and caring. She was very respectful in checking with me on pressure, whether it was okay to touch areas or move my arm, and in making sure the atmosphere in the room was calming and comfortable. The techniques she used on me seemed to have a clear understanding of the muscles and how they move best. She was able to suggest solutions to me on how to improve the issues in my shoulders, and I left the massage room feeling much more relaxed and with more ease and range of motion. I was surprised to discover that stiffness I didn't even know I had was gone!
I initially worked with Ger after a hip injury and felt immediate relief. Since then, he's helped me in my recovery from knee surgery (ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair). Even though I quickly "graduated" from physical therapy, if it wasn't for Ger, I would not have regained full mobility and comfort. It's so easy to schedule appointments, he listens and responds to my needs, and is so kind and supportive.
Ger provided answers that had eluded me for years. His exceptional knowledge and meticulous approach truly stand out. Ger is a Wonder!!! I saw him frequently when I lived in Winston. Since moving, if I’m anywhere near WS, I make an appointment. On occasion I’ve driven from Eastern NC just for an appointment with Ger. He’s committed to his practice, not the business, but the skills and he has mastered them. He is authentically interested in and concerned for our wellbeing and pain relief. Ger listens well and then articulates what he’s doing as he addresses the issues. Not only does he articulate what he’s doing, but he’ explains the details of muscle groups, functions, interactions with other muscles, bones, nerves, etc! II’ve made appointments for my Dad over the last 10+ years as well. He’ll be 89 Nov 15, 2024. He’s Always in better shape, moves better, by the end of an appointment and he’s “lighter”. While Ger works wonders physically, for my Dad it’s also that he feels heard. His concerns about his body are not simply considered but are taken seriously which all too often has not been our experience in the realm of healthcare. The bottom line is that the experience speaks for itself. You’ll wonder why it took you so long to find him. I’m so thankful that I did!
