As we prepare for repairing and installing storm windows in our home in the historic overlay district of Winston-Salem's West End, Greg and his team have already added value by helping us deal with the cold temperatures even before our order is final! The team has already been at our house making some interim adjustments to our 101+ year old windows to ensure that some significant drafts have been reduced or eliminated. We can already tell a difference in our heating bill! The crew at Salem Heritage is very friendly, meticulous, and careful. I recommend them for your next project and am happy to continue to work with them. Thank you!

My husband and I own a historic home in Winston Salem. When we purchase our home all of the windows were painted shut. We searched high and low for someone that could help us restore our windows. Everyone kept telling us that we should just replace the windows with new "more energy-efficient" windows. From personal experience, I knew that new windows were not a good solution as they tend to fail after ten to fifteen years - even the top of the line windows that we purchased. Also, new windows just don't look right in historic homes. We were delighted to meet Greg from Salem Heritage. Greg is PASSIONATE about historic homes. He knows what it takes to do a first-class restoration so that the original features of your home will look as good as new and function as intended. Greg's team restored several porches for us that involved: * stripping multiple columns down to the bare wood and repainting * stripping a beautiful and very detailed arch window over our front door and repainting * building a new glass door to replace a broken screen door (it's a work of art!) * stripping, restoring and painting our massive front door with beautiful, glossy European paints * restoring damaged woodwork, sealing and painting We LOVE the work that Greg's team has done for us so far and will begin phase three in the spring. If you own a historic home, you need to call Salem Heritage ASAP! They will restore your house to its original beauty and add to your property value at the same time. Win-win!

I own a 1935 house in Ardmore and the front door needed to be refinished. I chose Salem Heritage because they actually came out and looked at my door instead of just giving me a price on the phone. Annoyingly they didn’t think to ask what kind of finish I wanted and I didn’t think to tell them. Salem Heritage is into bright high gloss finishes that are very shiny and say WOW. The reflective shiny finish that they automatically put on my door just doesn’t go with the house. Glossy or matte is a personal preference so they should have asked me. All of that is ok because ideally the gloss finish goes on first and then a couple of layers of matte are added. I made it very clear that I disliked the high gloss and was told that they would correct it. They haven’t. Their actually woodwork on the door was great and they promised me over and over that they can and will tone down the finish but after weeks of waiting they haven’t. I was told that they would weather strip the door jamb so the door fit properly. They haven’t. I was told that everything would be fixed. It hasn’t been. I’m very disappointed. I expected a professional job from start to finish and didn’t get it. I would not recommend Salem Heritage in Winston-Salem, NC
