NC Roofing and Repairs replaced our hail-damaged roof in September 2020. We found Tim and his crew overall unprofessional and mediocre. While the experience started out very professional, with Tim being very communicative and pursuant of our business, once things were rolling, insurance payment approved, and estimates signed, our experience began to degrade. Communication from Tim at this point were limited to 1-2 line emails, and was unreliable. We could no longer trust him as a professional. Some specific things that happened along the way as examples: 1. We were finding tons of nails (roof nails are like giant thumbtacks btw) and staples spread throughout our front and backyard after roof replacement. Apparently, Tim's crew took a really long (2-3hrs) lunch break, finished the installation late into the evening, and did a really poor job cleaning up. We have a couple of 4 year old kids that like to run around in the yard - it was a really unsafe situation for at least a few days until I could get his crew to return to clean up the mess. 2. Even after the crew returned to clean up the mess, they left a bunch of roofing materials in our front yard, and promised Tim would come to clean it up. It took 2 weeks for Tim to actually do that. The mess stayed in our front yard the entire time. Tim's explanation was that his crew didn't communicate with him, but that's really an internal problem with his business he needs to resolve. 3. A few days after we gave Tim the final payment check, he emailed saying that the check flew out of his truck into a big puddle! He wanted us to write another check. When asked if he could bring the old check back he responded saying "there is nothing left the rain and wind." Now, the only way I was willing to write him another check was if I could block the payment on the check already written. So I spent an hour with my bank trying to do that, but was unsuccessful because of some issue with the bank's system that day. But the next day Tim emailed again saying someone from his bank found the check in their parking lot! That was a really weird sequence of events. Overall, very unprofessional and strange experience that unnecessarily cost me peace of mind and valuable time as a busy parent working full time with 3 kids under 5.
I hired NC Roofing to fix a nagging problem with my roof. It was actually the flashing that was done improperly when previous homeowners put on a new roof. The front of the house has that faux stone and there was moisture all behind it and it was leaking in the basement below. We tried EVERYTHING to fix this leak. We patched a hole in the stone we found and that didn't work. We added a diverter to the roof too but nada. We had the gutters in that area replaced with larger ones. Nope, still leaked. We even dug a small well and placed a pump thinking it was the ground water causing it but no such luck. Then we replaced ALL the gutters and the basement still got water. Finally it was the gutter guys who discovered the improper flashing and said we need a roofer to repair. Well most roofers only do roofs. They said they could do the flashing part but I would need to hire a mason to cut the stone. WHAT? It's not real stone! But most didn't care. That's when someone recommended NC Roofing and Repairs. We had one other estimate and it was pretty high. NC Roofing came in a reasonable price, showed up on time, explained the details, and most importantly they fixed the problem! FINALLY no more leaking! There was some messy dried concrete that needed cleaned up after and when it was cured, they came back out to make it prettier. Very good company. He told me he does punch lists for realtors so he can do a lot of small jobs around the house too. Even painting. Good to know! I would highly recommend them.
Tim and his crew did an amazing job, quick turn around with years of experience, and made the Insurance Claim process a snap. We absolutely love our new roof. And they are Veteran owned! We recommend them 150%.
We had a great experience working with Tim. We noticed a small leak after a heavy rain and contacted Tim first thing the next morning. He was at our house later that day and diagnosed the problem. 3 days later, he came with his crew to fix the issue. Very responsive, very easy to work with, and a very fast solution to our problem.
My farther was very pleased with the repairs that NC R & R did to his utility shed roof ! The owner (Tim Junghahn) was attentive to all details & the crew cleaned up the debris thoroughly!
