I have been ordering slices from Burke Street Pizza since 2008. It’s my go to for slices! Hugo has been around for a while and it’s always good to see his familiar face. If you want good quality pizza at a great price this is your spot!
Stopped by to grab something quick before taking my daughter to dance class and decided to chance it here. During the evening rush hour, there seemed to be a steady flow of customers throughout, but we were taken care of fairly quickly. The interior is clean, the low-key lighting felt familiar, nostalgic even, and decorated with NY themed photography hanging on the walls. Makes sense. They tout a NY style pizza. Can’t say it lived up to what I’ve grown to love as a former NYer myself, but it was still enjoyable. For $20 we got a whole pie of pepperoni pizza and a fountain drink. It comfortably filled up the stomachs of my family of four, granted my kids are little. Still, we’d continue to return!
One of the best pizza places in the area. Not quite NYC level but for NC it’s pretty good. The chicken pesto pizza is really yummy. Their wings don’t disappoint, but I can’t recommend the salad.
Not bad and sadly one of the most popular options in town. Hit or miss, sometimes really good and sometimes less than average. Stick with the pizza and garlic knots IMO. see the photo for a good small pizza built on a large crust which made feel cheated for my $20+.
Absolutely horrible. Over-priced and over-sauced, I genuinely don’t understand how someone can mess up pizza this badly. We got a BBQ chicken pizza, and the sauce had a whole inch to itself without the cheese, and then all the chicken was in the middle of the pizza. The sauce-to-ingredients ratio was off the charts. It felt like I had dipped a piece of bread in wet sauce. And the sauce wasn’t good either. I wish there was something good to say about the pizza, but it was just bad. And to top it all off, I waited for so long that I had to go ask where my pizza was only to find out that it was just sitting there and they forgot to call out my name. Save your money (and your time) and go literally anywhere else that makes food.
